      Digital radiorelay systems are the basis for required radiolines, depending on the radioline configuration those systems may be the terminal or repeated station. The pointed radiorelay stations consist of three main parts which are the following:
       - outdoor radiomodule which performs all functions of transceivers;
       - antenna with positioner; antenna may be integrated with radiomodule or may be installed separately;
       - access module which is placed in premises and it provided the connection of the radiomodule with terminal equipment. It is fully independent from the frequency band and may be delivered in different versions for various traffic capacities and system configuration.

SYSTEM CONFIGURATION
      Radiorelay system may be configured in different ways that gives the possibility to create:
      · starting from one radiorelay spacing without complete redundancy with the simplified control system and direct connecting of the radiomodule with digital flow forming equipment;
      · up to several decades of radiorelay spacings with the complex control system, with complete redundancy and with the extracting of flows at repeater and terminate stations.
      The radiorelay system may be configured with complete 1+1 redundancy and without complete 1+0 redundancy of base traffic. The 1+1 redundancy is obtained by using the frequency diversity or the additional equipment. Any terminal (or a node of radiorelay system) may be configured in such a way that to provide:

DIGITAL RADIORELAY SYSTEMS TYPE SATURN-E      * regeneration of digital flows without extracting in radioblocks and its retransmitting;
     * the retransmission of digital flow at 70 (140) MHz by direct connection of radioblocks with each other;
     * the access and possibility of digital flows extracting by access module in equipment room;
     * Each access module can be configured in such a way that to provide:
     - the service of required quantity of radiolines;
     - the work both with complete (1+1) redundancy and without complete (1+0) redundancy;
     - different spacings at different frequency ranges with any capacity in every direction.

     The terminals are easy configured according to the Customer requirements. The required node configuration is achieved by combination of different access modules.
     The preventive maintenance in one of the directions is performed without disruption of communication in another directions.

     The operating frequencies of the system are defined by radiorelay radioblocks and not depend on configuration of their access module.
     The every frequency choice of radio blocks with the fixed duplex spacing (receiving/transmitting) is performed according to the ITU-T recommendation and permission given to Customer by the Authorities which regulates the frequency using.
     The optimal length of one radioline hop is chosen depending on used frequency range.

NETWORK CONFIGURATION ON THE BASE OF SATURN'S RADIORELAYS

     The flexibility of radiorelay system allows to create the following different kinds of networks:

Mobile networks

1. Mobile networks. Saturn's radiorelays allow quickly and effectively connect the elements of cellular network i.e. the mobile switching center (MSC), the base station controllers (BSC), the base receiving/transmitting station (BTS). Besides that into network may be inserted the zone communication networks with the average capacity.

Fixed public communication networks

2. Fixed public communication networks. Saturn's radiorelays provide the quick increasing of users for public phone networks giving the attractive alternative in comparing with costly, labor-intensive and time consumption cable connections between telephone stations.

Private, corporate networks

3. Private, corporate networks. On the base of radiorelays may be built the internal corporation networks for transferring the data and voice; may be connected the separate phone stations and computer networks which have different location.

Wireless  closed networks

4. Wireless closed networks. The Saturn's radiorelays are a good and effective alternative to the copper and optic-fiber cables in wireless closed networks. Saturn's radiorelays are used for connecting the base stations to the fixed network.

DESCRIPTION OF DIGITAL RADIORELAY COMPONENTS

      Radioblock consists of the hermetic container in which are placed the microwave receiving/transmitting modules, the service access module (alarm and control system, service communication), internal secondary power supply. In some cases the radioblock may be furnished by the regenerator of digital flows or the modems. The container provides the protection against environmental and mechanical influences, the shielding against electromagnetic radiation. As a rule the radio block is integrated with an antenna but there is possibility to install it separately. The standard wavequide of related frequency band is the interface for antennas. The radioblock has connectors for coupling with coaxial cable, technological board and power supplying cable (if its required).

      The antenna with radioblock may be tuned by the positioner for compliance with related polarization (horizontal/vertical). Under that it is provided the exact alignment on azimuth and angle of elevation. Diameters of standard antenna with radome are from 0.3 m up to 1.8 m.

The access module provides the radiorelay interface with the common networks, the direct users, the customer phone stations, the mobile switching centre and the computer networks. The attending personnel using the access module has access to the technical channels for servicing and receiving the alarm and status information. The access module consists of:

· depending on traffic capacity and reserving conditions base block has a number of modifications and it also performs the function of digital modem at 70 MHz (or 140 MHz) intermediate frequency or the interface of digital flows in HDB3 (AMI) code. The base block has the connectors for connecting the cables from radioblock and the forming equipment of digital flows and it has the connectors for connecting the technological control board with handset or for connecting the power supply. On the front panel of base block there are light indicators, the switches of network condition and telecontrol signals. The base block can be not used under building up the simple radiolines without redundancy for 2.048 and 8.448 Mbps traffic in the case of installation the modem part in radioblock;

· multiplexer which integrates the number of 2.048 Mbps flows in one bigger flow (8.448 Mbps or 34.368 Mbps).
The multiplexer interface with 2.048 Mbps transmitting velocity is agreed with Rec. G.703

     According to the Customer requirement the access module may be completed by the forming equipment of digital flows (PCM-30 and PCM-120), and can also provide the integration with digital telephone station having the 2.048 Mbps standard interface (for example: Cheikom-300 and etc...).
