Receiving-transmitting equipment
for satellite communication systems.


FUNCTION:
      Receiving-transmitting equipment is designed for operation in the satellite communication stations in KU and Ka frequency ranges.
TOOL KIT FOR KU FREQUENCY RANGE INCLUDES:
      - LNA block - Ku;
      - power amplifier block, 2 types - PAB Ku5 with the output capacity 5 Watt and PAB Ku 25 with the output capacity 25 Watt;
      - receiving and transmitting block - RTB Ku.

TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF THE LNA Ku-BAND.

LNA Ku-band

Function and the main characteristics:
      Ku LNA is intended for operation with the receiving signal of Ku-band satellite communication station.
Main characteristics of Ku LNA:
      - operating frequencies range 12,25…12,75 GHz;
      - noise ratio: no more than 1,1 dB;
      - amplifying ratio in normal ambient conditions not less than 50 dB;
Characteristics of the amplitude-frequency irregularity:
      - no more than 2 dB in the whole operating frequency range;
      - no more than 0,5 at any 40 MHz band of operating frequency range.
Transfer ratio instability at a constant level of the input signal:
      - no more than ±1 dB in operating temperatures range.
Output signal capacity level during compression at 1 dB not less than +10 dBm:
      - input standing-wave ratio: no more than 1,2;
      - output standing-wave ratio: no more than 1,2.

Ku-band

Function of RTB Ku:
      Receiving-transmitting block (RTB Ku) is a remote block of the frequency conversion in receiving and transmitting routes of Ku satellite communication station. Moreover, RTB Ku has a range of specific functions on remote control of the other equipment connected to it, such as L-band modem equipment, PAB Ku and LNA Ku.
Main characteristics of the transmitting route RTB Ku:
      - operating frequency range of the input signal 950…1450 MHz;
      - operating frequency range of the output signal 14,0…14,5 GHz;
      - transfer ratio: 28…32 dB (in normal ambient conditions).
Characteristics of the amplitude-frequency irregularity:
      - no more than 2 dB in operating frequency range;
      - no more than 0,5 dB in any band of 40 MHz operating frequency range.
Transfer ratio instability at a constant level of the input signal:
      - no more than ±1 dB in operating temperatures range;
      - input standing-wave ratio: no more than 1,2;
      - output standing-wave ratio: no more than 1,2;
      - output signal level during compression at 1 dB: not less than +10 dBm.
Main characteristics of the receiving route RTB Ku:
      - input signal operating frequency range 12,25…12,75 GHz;
      - output signal operating frequency range 950…1450 MHz;
      - transfer ratio 32…38 dB ( in normal ambient conditions).
Characteristics of the amplitude-frequency irregularity:
      - no more than 2 dB in the whole operating frequency range;
      - no more than 0,5 at any 40 MHz band of operating frequency range.
Transfer ratio instability at a constant level of the input signal:
      - no more than ±1 dB in operating temperatures range;
      - noise ratio no more than 15 dB;
      - input standing-wave ratio: no more than 1,25;
      - output standing-wave ratio: no more than 1,2;
      - output signal capacity level during compression at 1 dB not less than +10 dBm.

TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF THE SOLID KU-BAND PAB POWER AMPLIFIER.

KU-band pab power amplifier

      Operating frequency range 14,0…14,5 GHz.
Output capacity level during compression at 1 dB:
      - for type PAB Ku with output capacity 25 Watt not less than 25 Watt;
      - for type PAB Ku with output capacity 5 Watt not less than 5 Watt.
Amplifying ratio in normal ambient conditions:
      - for PAB Ku type with output capacity 25 Watt 45-48 dB;
      - for PAB Ku type with output capacity 5 Watt 38-41 dB.
Amplifying ratio irregularity:
      - no more than 2 dB in the whole operating frequency range;
      - no more than 0,5 at any 40 MHz band of operating frequency range.
Amplifying ratio instability at a constant level of the input signal:
      - no more than ±1 dB in operating temperatures range.
Level of the spurious effects in the operating frequencies range:
      - no more than - 60 dBs at the output voltage 5 Watt;
      - 25 Watt for an appropriate types.
AM/FM conversion level:
      - no more than 3 dB at the output voltage 5 Watt;
      - 25 Watt for an appropriate types;
      - input standing wave ratio no more than 1,25;
      - output standing wave ratio no more than 1,25;
      - standing wave ratio of the controlled output signal, no more than 1,8.

TOOL KIT FOR KA FREQUENCY-RANGE INCLUDES:
      - LNA block - Ka;
      - power amplifier block - PAB Ka;
      - receiving and transmitting block - RTB Ka.

      - operating frequencies range 19,2…20,2 GHz;
      - noise ratio, no more than 2,5 dB;
      - amplifying ratio in normal ambient conditions not less than 40 dB;
      - irregularity of the frequency range characteristic, no more than 2 dB in the whole operating frequencies range, no more than 0,5 at each band of the 80 MHz operating frequencies range;
      - amplifying ratio instability at a constant level of the input signal, no more than ± 1 dB in operating temperatures range;
      - output signal power level during compression at 1 dB not less than 0 dBm, - input standing-wave ratio no more than 1,25; output standing-wave ratio no more than 1,25.

Technical characteristics of the transmitting section:
      - type of the frequency conversion: double conversion;
      - operating frequency range of the input signal 100-180 MHz;
      - operating frequency range of the output signal 29,0…30,0 MHz;
      - irregularity of the frequency range characteristics no more than 0,8 dB at each band of the 80 MHz operating frequency range;
      - step of the frequency change 125 kGz;
      - transfer ratio of the RTB Ka transmitting section not less than 11 dB at the maximum amplifying in normal ambient conditions;
      - noise ratio no more than 25 dB, we conduct the measuring of the noise ratio when the transmitting ratio is maximum;
      - self-noises level at the output: no more -65 dB;
      - input standing-wave ratio no more than 1,1;
      - output standing-wave ratio no more than 1,25.
Technical characteristics of the receiving section:
      - operating frequency range of the input signal 19,2…20,2 MHz;
      - operating frequency range of the output signal 100…180 MHz;
      - type of the frequency conversion, double conversion;
      - step of the frequency change 125 kGz;
      - maximum transfer ratio not less than 30 dB;
      - input standing-wave ratio no more than 1,25;
      - output standing-wave ratio no more than 1,1;
      - image channel selectivity not less than 80 dB.
